**Give us your opinion...Today's new therapies to treat autoimmune disease offer a great deal of hope for an increased quality of life for the patient, however many pose other health risks that must be balanced with the benefit of taking the new drug. AARDA will develop a series of online and print resources for patients to aid them in making a fact based decision regarding a new therapy or treatment prescribed by their physician. First however, we need YOUR help to ensure that we understand the process by which patients currently make a decision -- so that we can tailor our tools and resources to meet those needs. **Your help with advocacy is needed** AARDA needs every autoimmune patient, family member, and friend to contact their U.S. Representative in support of H.R. 2084, also called the "Prevention, Awareness, and Research of Autoimmune Diseases Act of 2009." Men Get Autoimmune Diseases, Too -- This AARDA campaign, launched in April of 2008, consists of 30-second radio and television public service announcements and education materials designed to raise awareness about the fact that, while women are disproportionately affected, these diseases do not discriminate when it comes to gender.
